January 2021, I re-entered the post-COVID world knowing everything had changed.
It was Sunday, so I went to my pre-COVID equivalent of church -- Bell in Hand with Dalton church -- with two of my best buds - Kelly & Walsh. I walked into the oldest bar in Boston, like I did hundreds of times before, and although everything had changed outside inside nothing had changed. My favorite bartenders were there. Scully crushed all our favorite songs. And all the regulars were there for a Sunday sing-along. It was in that moment -- with no agenda entering that day -- I became part of the Dalton & the Sheriff family.
Music has always been a core piece of my life. My parents and their college friends introduced me to Buffett. My Dad taught me Counting Crows. They all taught me Van Morrison. Now, I am teaching them all about Dalton & the Sheriffs.
What I didn’t realize in that Bell moment was the value I would receive through the quality people who make up this team. To date, I’ve gained and lost a roommate, befriended a self-appointed Disney tour guide, met a Prince impersonator, and locked in a a life-long circuit city customer service rep. I also got to live my best friends wedding mix tape, a friends journey to and through law school, and our favorite friend’s game 7 NLCS collapse (too soon Zach?).
Nov 4th is the continuation of a new chapter. If you live in Boston come check out what we have built via our Boston House of Blues Residency. If you don’t live in Boston, this is your reminder to support live music. Either come say hi and I’ll see you soon!
